More Praise

Bright and early this morning we got a call from our Doctor...Bristol's MRI was Normal!!!!!

Thank You Jesus!!!!

M.R.I. Today

Today was the day we have been looking forward to, yet dreading for weeks..We took Bristol to Wolfson for her MRI. I had talked to the nurses several times about what to expect about the appointment, but You don't know really until you get there..I did not know how I was going to be able to hand my baby to a stranger for I know would be a short time but felt like forever...But Jesus never takes you anywhere that Grace doesn't reach.. The day could not have gone any better.. We got Bristol undressed and this cute little gown on and waited to be took upstairs with her nurse that stayed with her the entire time..they gave her some medicine that made her sleepy for a short while..It was important for her to stay perfectly still during the test and the machine is very loud...She did great...I rocked her after the medicine and her nurse let me hold her until she was fast alseep..Travis and I gave her lots of kisses and after a couple of tears went to the waiting with our Moms..It went quickly Thank God!!!
They brought out when the test was over and she was still sleeping sound.. They pulled her in the cushioned wagon because she was still attached so the portable monitors..

She took a little longer to wake up than I would have liked..But when she did wake up she woke up talking..LOL... What a precious Baby God has chosen just for us and such a "tough old bird"..
We went to church this night and the night before..The message was so Awesome and just what we needed...The preacher spoke about Gods Grace and how you don't just stumble across it..Grace is in our lives when we need it..Genesis 5:27 says, " And Noah found Grace in the eyes of the Lord"....I also found Grace..Thank you Jesus Grace is put here Just for me..He also spoke of not looking for Grace when you are at the highest, but when you are at your lowest and closest to Jesus..

The hospital gave her this bear which she really liked..So we wait for results now....

Therapy......

Today I took Bristol back to her first "real" physical therapy session..We saw a different therapist then the one that did her initial evaluation.. the therapist we saw today will be working with her twice a week for the next six months....He brought put some things I had noticed but haven't really thought about..He said her hearing was sporadic.sometime she responded to sound and other times she did not...and we should have it checked..he said she had a lot of work to do and her upper torso was very weak.. and it was very important I help her every day at home..He gave me some different things to do with her at home..He talked to her like she couldn't see..I was quick to tell him I thought she could see and so did the ophthalmologist we had already seen twice..He was concerned she didn't respond to any toys and said that would just make things more of a challenge..he also told me that most of the time hypotonia comes as a symptom of something else..we will see if anything else is going on when we have her mri on Monday..I am very anxious about it because she is going to be sedated for about an hour..
After the therapy she was so worn out, she fell asleep right away and slept for a couple of hours..tonight I set her a couple of things up on a blanket in the living room so we can work with her there often..I will be so relieved next week when the mri is behind us..and her 4 months check when we talk about what if anything they find..next week this time we should have some answers..until then we will PRAY..

Praise..Praise..Praise..

The last couple of days Bristol has made great progress..She is holding eye contact for a couple of seconds and smiling up a storm..we had to touch her cheeks just a couple of days ago to make her smile, but now when she hears our voice she turns and smiles..I know our God is hearing our prayers..She hates these bows she pulls them off and makes ugly faces when I put them on her.. Bristiol had her first physical therapy appointment today due to hypotonia..We had an awesome therapist that explained so much..She told us muscle tone and strength are different..She told us muscle tone is something you are born with and it does not increase or decrease as you grow. So unlike muscle tone you can build muscle strength. .. Bristol will always have low tone But with therapy she’ll gain strength..The therapist gave us lots of exercises to work on at home between her appointments..we are going to take her twice a week for 6 months and then evaluate her again..
The office was great and so colorful..She wasn't feeling good at all so we didn't really get started today with exercises..She has a terrible cold and stuffy nose..

We take her back on Thursday and I hope she is feeling better..

My baby is so been a trooper...I think she might be ready to go home...We start Therapy Monday and really don't know what to expect..I have done alot of research and know it does really help..Though we may have a long road to travel.I did not realize how "low Tone"Bristol was until I held a friends baby at camp this weeks that is just 1 month old..Gracie holds herself already and has posture...We are so grateful to Our God for Bristol exactly the way she came to us..He makes no mistakes..

Our last night at camp the girls are so tired, but have had a great time...

Good bye until next time..

Camp Yale

Camp Day #1, Bristol is not letting anything get in the way of her naps..Sleep where ever, whenever.. We were sweaty from all the heat so she needed a bath..this was the best we could and it make her happy..Madison said,"when you get yourself wet and don't use soap you still stink" thanks for the word Madison..There was no room in this tub for rinsing off any soap..

the joys of camp on concrete floors rooming with 9 girls "Sandy feet" yuck...

Silly girls, having the best time ever...

more to come..

Hypotonia

We had Bristol back at the doctor Friday for her pre-op appointment before her MRI...She still is avoiding eye contact and not tracking anything with her eyes..she has been evaulated by an opthmoligist and her eyes appear to be healthy...So After lots of questions and after reading her report from the geneticist our doctor decided to get her started with physical therapy due to hypotonia..this means her muscles have low tone.. we were concerned she was not holding her head up like she should at this age. she doesn't have alot of upper boby strength..This can be very scary....Some kids do very well with therapy...Some cases are very mild..we won't know how sereve she is until she is a little older and evalulated by the therapist..we should start Friday and then know how many times a week she will have to go..
I know Bristol was hand picked just for Travis and I...we may have some difficult times ahead, fear of the unknown.. But we know our God is an awesome God and there is nothing he can't do.....God knew she was going to be special and and I am honored he would entrust me to be her Mama.. She is the most pleasant baby I have ever been around.. So happy all the time..She is our baby and we are doing to do every thing in our power to get her the very best of care..Please keep her and us in your prayers..

July 4th Parade

We started the day early Saturday morning on our way to the parade..This is something the girls look forward to every year...I don't recall them just watching the parade ever...Madison having her breakfast on the go...
